Kyle Abbott struggles to maintain his calm as Daniel Romalotti admits he knows the truth about Summer Newman. This comes out after Phyllis Summers shows herself to Summer, who is heartbroken to find out the truth about her mother’s supposed death. The remains were taken from the morgue, and according to Phyllis, it was all Jeremy Stark’s idea. She had to go into hiding after killing Stark in self-defense.
Summer has been ordered to stay quiet about the situation, but she tells Daniel anyway. Unfortunately, much like Summer, Daniel turns out to be untrustworthy, taking credit for the revelation and spilling the beans to Jack Abbott and Michael Baldwin. Kyle and his mom, Diane Jenkins, both think Summer should be told the truth and are furious about it. Michael, though, cautions against making any sudden announcements until they have solid proof that Phyllis is still alive.
Diane suddenly walks in on them as emotions are rising and an argument has broken out about what to do next. She offers her sympathies over Phyllis‘ passing and believes that Daniel has come to check on Summer. Daniel is able to keep the truth from her while assuring her that she will not be arrested. Diane is appreciative, and she tells him so.

Kyle is experiencing a growing sense of internal turmoil as the group continues to discuss what action to take next. He’s torn between telling Summer the truth because he thinks she deserves to know it and waiting for them to have more proof before taking any action. Michael and Jack agree that they need to tread carefully so as not to raise anticipation too soon.
Despite the rising tension, nobody loses their cool, and no significant arguments occur. But it’s also obvious that nothing has been settled and that there will be plenty more drama to come. This week, Kyle and Jack set out to prove that Phyllis is still alive by any means necessary. They don’t know what they’re searching for, but they’re committed to finding the truth, no matter what it takes.
Summer and her loved ones are counting on the evidence Kyle and Jack find to determine their future. Could their hunt for Phyllis’s whereabouts put them in harm’s way?
