Brave Woman Crawls Through Storm Drains to Rescue Puppies
Once the news of Callie Clemens’ daring rescue mission spread, she became a local legend. Her heroic act captured the hearts of many, and even a local news channel wanted to interview her.
There’s nothing much she won’t do to save a puppy, including climbing into the storm drains.
It happened in Houston which like much of the USA is experiencing blistering hot weather.
During the interview, the reporter asked, “Callie, crawling through roach-infested storm drains must have been quite an experience. How did you manage to do it?”

Callie laughed, her eyes twinkling, and replied, “The heat you kind of don’t really think because your adrenaline is like just go in really fast. You’re like these are gonna die.” ~ Callie Clemens
As the interview continued, Callie’s phone buzzed with notifications. It seemed her story had gone viral, and people from all over the country were applauding her bravery.
Callie Clemens is the ex daughter in law of baseball pitching great Roger Clemens. In addition, she’s five foot tall and Callie’s small size enabled her to make her way through the network of tunnels.
As for Callie, she continued her fearless pursuit of animal welfare, never backing down from a challenge. Each time she heard a distressed animal’s cry, she knew that she was meant to be there to help.

Finally, Callie found two of the puppies by spreading her torch light everywhere and as the torch is aimed towards darkness, She saw the puppies as you find the light and miss. The eyes are reflected back at her and after that, She could hear those little splashes.
Her legend grew, making her a shining example of how a little kindness and courage could change the world, one puppy at a time.
