In a recent episode of The Young and the Restless, Lily found herself comforting her friend Daniel after he received some distressing news. As she talked with him, Lily opened up about her own pain, revealing that she still misses her parents terribly. However, unlike Daniel’s situation, Lily’s parents are both deceased.

Lily’s father, Neil passed away from a sudden heart attack a few years ago, leaving a hole in her heart that will never be filled. But it’s her mother, Dru Winters, whose fate has always been shrouded in mystery.
Dru was last seen on the show over a decade ago when she seemingly fell off a cliff and was presumed dead. However, her body was never found, leading us to speculate that she may still be alive out there somewhere.

This happens often in soap operas when the writers decide to kill someone off without actually killing them off. If there’s no body, how will they prove the death?

Of course, there’s a chance that Dru is definitely dead and that her absence is simply a tragic loss for her family. The Dru we knew would never stay away from her loved ones for so long, and that there can be no excuse for her absence now.

On the other hand, maybe Dru may have amnesia and simply doesn’t remember her former life. Perhaps she doesn’t know she has grandchildren or even that she was once married to Neil. Or who she is for all that matters.

So it would be great to all of a sudden one day for someone to find Dru and try to explain to her who she really is.

There’s something in me that says Dru is still alive out there somewhere. In the world of soap operas, no one is ever truly dead until there are absolutely solid hints. After all, we’ve seen characters come back from the dead before, often with convoluted explanations for their absence.

So, why shouldn’t Dru be one of them? Of course, there are many possibilities for how this storyline could play out. Maybe Dru is living i secret somewhere, trying to protect her family from danger. Maybe she’s being held captive by a villainous character and needs to be rescued. Or maybe she’s simply been living her own life all these years and is finally ready to come back to Genoa City.
