The world keeps falling apart for Kyle, and each new blow just makes him more determined to destroy himself. Because of his dishonesty and inability to forgive, his once-perfect life is now in ruins. Without a second thought, he tells Summer that their marriage is over and then immediately seeks comfort in Audra’s arms, as if doing so would make him whole again.
But there’s more to Audra than meets the eye, and her charm has made a permanent impression on Kyle’s heart. Because of the depth of his feelings for her, he plans a huge surprise for her the morning following their tryst, presenting her with a bouquet of flowers and a lavish diamond necklace.
Summer, however, continues to be blissfully unaware of Kyle’s serious wrongdoings. She longs for forgiveness, unwilling to accept the painful truth that her life has fallen apart forever. Jack, ever the master strategist, suggests a drastic measure: a selfless deed that would give Summer some stability among the chaos. To help Summer cope with the loss of her spouse, he offers that Kyle steps down from his position at Marchetti and hand over management to her.
Kyle gives up with unwillingness, but his pride is still hurt, and he is not happy about it. Although his father meant well, his action made him feel that he had been ignored in favor of Summer. To make matters worse, the mysterious Billy has taken over as co-CEO of Jabot, crushing Kyle’s hope of regaining his former position.
