Phyllis Summers has been in hiding ever since she faked her own death to frame Diane Jenkins and accidentally killed Jeremy Stark. Summer Newman is doing all she can to prevent Daniel Romalotti Jr. from telling the police what he knows. Despite Summer’s best attempts to help him, Daniel still can’t shake his feelings of guilt. Diane Jenkins has posted bail and is now legally free to marry Jack Abbott. Before the trial, Jack wants to marry Diane so that they can stand together as a family. However, Diane is now under house arrest, so a church ceremony is out of the question. To solve this problem, Jack suggests that they arrange a modest, private ceremony at the Abbott house.
