Young and the Restless 5-8-23 Spoilers | Phyllis & Summer craft a Perfect Plot to Save Themselves from the Law
The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Phyllis Summers in the coming episode will have her hands full when it comes to finding a way out of trouble.
Phyllis Gets Summer in Her Mess
Phyllis has asked Summer Newman-Abbott for help in coming up with a solution, and she has promised to do it for the sake of her mother. However, whether she can do it or not is a big question mark since Phyllis may also know that just by asking for her daughter’s help, she might have doomed her life.
After all, she is asking Summer to help her in aiding her after she faked her own death to frame Diane’s Jenkins before killing her co-conspirator, Jeremy Stark.
Summer’s personal life will be in shambles if things were to go south but she could be equally liable in front of the law. So, the mother-daughter duo will have to make it work and it looks like they will make it looks like Phyllis was in confinement since the start.
They may lead Chance Chancellor’s breadcrumbs to follow all the way to free Phyllis, clearing her from all the crimes she is guilty of. Phyllis will play along with being kidnapped, claiming that she doesn’t remember when she lost consciousness and ended up captured.
They will likely pin it on her psychopath partner, Jeremy as her possible captor. When Phyllis kept quiet about Jeremy’s death and he learned someone killed Jeremy, it would be easy for him to act out of shock.
If the police determine that Phyllis is locked up and unable to contact Stark or anyone else, Phyllis has an alibi. It will mean that Diane will also be free from all suspicion but her revenge will just have to wait.

Her own immunity and that of her daughter from the law comes first. So, she may confess to initially plotting to attack Diane with Jeremy to make it real but still make it sound like he manipulated her to become so devious.
However, she may also act like Jeremy turned on her because she backed out of the plan to harm Diane last minute to earn her some points against future persecution. Phyllis also appears to be a poor victim of Stark rather than being treated like an outcast in town to fool everyone.
Since the dead can’t speak, Jeremy won’t be able to defend himself. The fact that he was a known criminal who had quickly become infamous in Genoa City in a short time won’t help his case. Diane may even eliminate EMT Carson like she did Jeremy to remove all loose links that could lead back to her.
Of course, Chance is an exceptional detective who could find loopholes in Phyllis’s reports. Diane certainly will not buy her victim act since the start and could help Chance not rule her out of the investigation just yet.
It will be hard to believe that so many coincidences happened simultaneously for Phyllis despite the precarious situation she claimed to be put through. Will Phyllis escape her consequences or will Diane and Chance find out the truth? What will it mean for Summer?
