If you thought things couldn’t go any more downhill and exciting than it already is in Phyllis Summer’s and Sally Spectra’s life in The Young and The Restless, then think again. First, let’s dive into Sally’s past and background. So, you may know that Sally was raised alongside her sister Coco Spectra by her grandma, Shirley Spectra.
However, that’s where the line ends between what we actually know about Sally’s history. Her parents have been out of the picture ever since we saw her on the show, and we haven’t been able to figure it out until now, which we think is going to change.
What if I tell you we already know who they are? It’s possible that we not just know her parents, who abandoned her decades ago, but also have kind of grown a love-hate relationship with them both, maybe more of a hate toward one than the other.
At the top of my head, I’m guessing it’s Phyllis because, well, first off, they both have the same hair color. And I know that a gazillion people have similar hair colors in the world so it’s not really evidence.
Talking about Phyllis, it wasn’t until 2013 that the viewers caught a glimpse of Phyllis’s family background. Her father, George Summers, and sister, Avery Bailey Clark, were introduced, hinting at a strained relationship between them. During her teenage years, Phyllis made the decision to run away from home for whatever reason we don’t know. It’s possible that during this time, she may have become pregnant and chosen to give her baby up for adoption.

Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful will surely remember the havoc Sally Spectra caused during her time in Los Angeles. Speculation and suspicion followed her as she made her way to Genoa City. In a bid to win back her ex-lover from the person who had taken him away, Sally resorted to pretending she had a terminal illness.
This displays a similar level of cunning and manipulation as Phyllis Summers on The Young and the Restless. It would certainly pique curiosity if Sally and Phyllis were revealed to be mother and daughter.
There are also murmurs in the rumor mill suggesting that Jeremy Stark could be Sally Spectra’s father. As a money launderer who enticed Diane Jenkins into a life of crime and wealth, it would be quite fitting for him to suddenly discover his long-lost daughter. Jeremy and Sally do share striking similarities, adding fuel to the speculation.
