Antwerp, Ohio: Elise Neace, a 32-year-old from Antwerp, Ohio, has turned her house into a spooky wonderland with around $2,000 worth of decorations. But her husband, Zach, doesn’t share her Halloween enthusiasm.
In an interview, Neace shared her lifelong love for Halloween, starting with horror movies at age 3. She decided to give her house a permanent Halloween vibe after buying it six years ago.
She’s transformed three roomsâliving, dining, and bedroomâwith spooky items like skull cushions, cobweb placemats, and eerie signs. Over six years, she’s spent an estimated $1,000 to $2,000, slowly building her eerie collection.
Neace’s goal is to extend her spooky theme throughout the whole house, stating her home “always has Halloween dĂ©cor up.”
A medical administrative assistant, Neace seized the chance to turn her house into a haunted haven. She sourced eerie signs, Halloween-themed kitchenware, and moody blue paint for the walls. Her dining room is now adorned with signs saying “Home sweet haunted home” and “Witches’ market.”
Friends and visitors have embraced her spooky style, finding joy in her unique décor. Each year, she adds to her Halloween passion. She plans to transform her bedroom with dark colors and has acquired ghost blankets, skull pillows, and an orange bedspread. Her kitchen boasts Halloween mugs and towels, keeping the eerie atmosphere alive.
Reflecting on her earliest horror memory, ‘Pet Sematary,’ Neace mentioned receiving its VHS tape from her grandparents at age 3. For her, Halloween isn’t just dĂ©corâit’s a chance to dress up and have fun.
While Neace revels in Halloween, not all families share her excitement for early holiday displays.
A TikTok video on June 23 showing Halloween decorations in a store drew comments like “It’s not even July!”
Elise Neace’s year-round Halloween house showcases her unwavering passion. Her unique home stands as a beacon of Halloween joy in Antwerp, Ohio.
