Phyllis Summers could ruin her daughter’s marriage to Kyle Abbott. Phyllis is always hatching devious plans, and it would seem that she is up to her usual antics once again. But why is Summer on the verge of losing her spouse, and how exactly will Phyllis be held responsible for it if it does happen?
The action gets underway when Kyle’s mother, Diane Jenkins, is released from prison and returns to the Abbott house after being absent for a period of time. But Summer treats Diane with distrust and antagonism instead of warmth and open arms. And to make things even worse, Summer is aware that Diane is not guilty, but she is not taking any steps to assist Diane in repairing her reputation.
While all this is going on, Kyle is stuck in the middle of his family’s argument. He is aware that his mother is not guilty, but at the same time, he is attempting to be considerate of Summer’s feelings towards Phyllis’s presumed death. He is having a difficult time since summer is making things difficult for him. She is deceiving him in order to further her mother’s scheme to keep Diane in prison. And Kyle is going to flip out once he learns the truth about what happened.

The tension between Kyle and Summer is rising as a result of all this commotion. Spoilers reveal that Phyllis Summers is at the root of all the difficulties in the Summers’ marriage. It’s obvious that Phyllis is planning something when she requests to meet with Summer at Chancellor Park.
But what precisely does Phyllis have in mind for the future? We’ve been told that her plan is to make Jeremy Stark seem like the murderer of Phyllis so that she may get revenge. Phyllis hopes that by keeping Diane in prison, where she believes she belongs, she may escape having to pay for her part in the scam.
It remains to be seen how Phyllis’s plotting will ultimately affect Summer and Kyle’s marriage on Young and the Restless. There’s clearly a lot of tension between these people, and the audience is left wondering what will happen next. When Summer tells Kyle the truth, will she be able to clear Diane? Or will Phyllis’s plotting do fatal damage to the Abbotts as a whole?
