Summer’s joy is bubbling over as they catch up, and she proposes they phone her brother, Daniel Romalotti Jr., to tell him the fantastic news. But her relief is short-lived since Phyllis quickly knocks down the notion with a serious frown on her face.
Phyllis brings the news to Summer that she murdered Jeremy Stark in self-defense, a revelation that leaves Summer in disbelief. Summer’s thoughts are racing as she attempts to grasp the seriousness of the situation. Phyllis begs her daughter to conceal the truth about her homecoming because she is worried about the consequences.

For Phyllis’s sake, she is willing to compromise her morals and tell lies to her loved ones, even her husband, Kyle Abbott. Summer’s emotions are all over the place as she tries to process the aftermath of her actions and the potential consequences of the truth being revealed.
In the meantime, Daniel’s hunt for information regarding his mother’s disappearance has left him feeling hopeless. When he finds out the truth, he is crushed, feeling injured and betrayed by both Summer and Phyllis.
Summer and Phyllis come up with a strategy as the crisis worsens to clear Diane Jenkins’ reputation and keep Phyllis safe. However, Summer’s relationship with Kyle becomes strained as Kyle begins to suspect something is wrong due to their concealment. Summer is divided between her love for her husband and her allegiance to her family, and she struggles with the guilt of lying to him.
Every day that goes by, the stress increases, and the stakes become more critical. How well do you think Summer can hide Phyllis’s return to keep her family safe? What will happen when Daniel finds out the truth? Is Summer aware of how her decisions will affect her relationships and her morality?
