Young and the Restless 5-16-23 Spoilers | Summer Sets Shocking Trap For Phyllis Confession
It looks like Summer Newman will have to make some hard decisions in the next few episodes of Y&R. Everything is going to get more difficult now that word of Phyllis Summers’s false death has spread around town, in addition to her being suspected of murdering Jeremy Stark. Summer won’t be able to keep this information secret any longer.
Despite the unpleasant nature of the news, it appears as if Kyle will pass along Daniel’s updates to Michael. After breaking the news to Diane, he may also notify Summer. Maybe Kyle would say that he regrets leaving Summer in such a guilty state, but he couldn’t stand to see her in any more pain. And so this moment may be her best opportunity to come clean. But will Summer be willing to do that?
Now that Summer has seen her mother, she will probably inform Daniel that she knows Phyllis is still alive. Even though she lied to Kyle, she has a solid justification at the moment because her world has been completely spinning out of control.
Summer’s recent mental troubles may have convinced Kyle to let her off the hook. It would be easier for her to deal with if she were willing to do what is best for everyone and try to get Phyllis out of hiding. Since Phyllis only told Summer, it’s clear that she has complete faith in her daughter.
Summer will be in a great position to trick Phyllis if the gang can devise a new plan. Diane will be cleared if Phyllis comes back and confirms Daniel’s story. Phyllis will be arrested for manipulation and the murder of Jeremy under this scenario.

So, maybe Kyle and Daniel can convince Summer that this course of action is for the best of all parties involved. If Summer understands that Phyllis’s flight means they can never again be close, she may change her mind.
For her good, she will agree to betray Phyllis, allowing her mother to clear her name in the process. Phyllis could play the role of Mr. Stark’s victim despite her active participation in his schemes. They’re making it seem like Jeremy is the bad guy who took advantage of Phyllis when she was weak. And for that to happen, Phyllis must first be arrested so that she may rationally construct her defense and a way out of this predicament.
So, if Summer can track down Phyllis, she can arrange a meeting with her and have her arrested. She may resort to extreme measures, such as staging an accident, to get her mother to rush to the hospital. So, what do you think of Phyllis being imprisoned following Summer’s betrayal?
